We buzz and we sting! Well, that's what they say, but you shouldn't believe everything you hear about bees. Take me for example, I've got just about everything needed to make you dislike me. Think about it! I've got a nasty sting, Plenty of venom, a pair of wings that will carry me miles from my hive, and i make a very shrill noise when I'm angry. But just because i am buzzing, it doesn't mean I'm coming to annoy you. My sisters and i work hard. During the day we search for nectar to make honey, then in the evening we look after the queen bee and the baby bees. We don't like visitors very much, and if an animal or a human comes to near to the hive, we let them know that it would be better if they left us alone. First, we go buzzzz quietly. But if the intruder doesn't move on, we put on the turbo BZZZZZZZZZZ! At Some Point, one of us busy bees will notice that you are being a nuisance or getting too close, and then watch out for a sharp sting! Ooh! Ouch! The moral of my story is: don't come too close as we busy bees don't like to be disturbed. But when i am gathering pollen from the flowers, come and watch me from a distance and i won't mind a bit.
