The Cal Golden Bears are a win away from being bowl eligible but they have lost four of their last five games. The Cal offense is averaging 40.7 and 496.6 yards per game led by QB Jared Goff who has completed 62.5 percent of his passes with 30 touchdowns and four interceptions. Daniel Lasco leads California in rushing with 882 yards and 11 touchdowns and he also has 29 receptions while Bryce Treggs has 43 receptions and six touchdowns, Chris Harper has 41 catches and six touchdowns, and Stephen Anderson has 39 catches and four touchdowns. The Cal defense has ben a sieve allowing 39.7 points and 518.3 yards per game creating just 14 turnovers and 13 QB sacks. Michael Barton has 70 tackles, Michael Lowe has 67 tackles, and Cameron Walker has 5 tackles. Cal has been tough but their defense has let them down.

The Stanford Cardinal are just 5-5 this season and need a win to get into a bowl game. The Stanford offense has been disappointing averaging just 23.9 points and 378.4 yards per game led by QB Kevin Hogan who has completed 63.8 percent of his passes with 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Remound Wright is Stanford’s leading rusher with 396 yards and Ty Montgomery leads the Cardinal defense with 60 receptions. The Stanford defense has been the team’s stronger unit allowing 16.5 points and 277.7 yards per game with just nine takeaways and 33 sacks. Blake Martinez has 81 tackles and 4.5 sacks, Jordan Richards has 67 tackles, and A.J. Tarpley has 64 tackles. After a nice run of top tier bowl games Stanford has taken a step back to rebuild this season.

Cal is 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games, 8-22 against the spread following a loss, and 3-12 against the spread in their last 15 home games. Stanford is 2-5 agaisnt the spread in their last seven Pac-12 games, 6-1 against the spread following a loss, and 0-5 against the spread in their last five road games. The road team has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
