Captain Franklyn Desiderio was the pilot the Emirates Airbus A380 that arrived in Manila at Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Tuesday, October 7, 3014 at past ten o'clock in the evening (10:00 PM).
He was the first Filipino pilot who steered the first airbus A380 commercial flight from Dubai to Manila. It was a sentimental journey a he landed world's largest passenger aircraft smoothly at NAIA.
"Napakasaya ng feelings. When they were approaching Manila, I told my co-pilot, this is my hometown. We flew somewhere close to my hometown in Bulacan and I felt so happy. I am the first Filipino A380 captain ....commanding the first A380 commercial flight to Manila. I'm flying overhead my hometown. ....Napakasaya ng feelings". He said in the interview.
