Iker Casillas has admitted that it was "unthinkable" that Real Madrid would go on a club-record 16-game winning streak after their stuttering start to the season.
The Blancos came in for heavy criticism after back-to-back Liga losses to Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid on August 31 and September 13, respectively.
However, they have since won 16 games on the bounce in all competitions - a streak which has seen them storm to the top of La Liga and reach the knockout stage of the Champions League.
"We are very happy with the record," the Madrid captain told reporters after Saturday's 2-0 Liga win at Malaga. "We've reached 16 consecutive victories.
