Happy Hour USA
Celebrate the last of summer with a refreshing cocktail
Summer is quickly coming to an end and that means fewer reasons to slow the pace, kick your feet up, and grab a drink. There’s no time like the present to celebrate the end of season, and certainly no better way to do it than with a selection of delicious, thirst-quenching libations. Whether it’s at cool new wine bar in New York, a classic cocktail spot in LA, or a Cuban club in Miami, here’s the hottest places to grab a drink across the USA.
New York
New York is naturally chock-full of great places to quench your thirst, with bars on almost every street corner. If you’re riding the natural wine wave, coast on over to The Ten Bells on the Lower East Side (pictured right). This small, unpretentious gem is a great place to get acquainted with organic, biodynamic, and unusual wines made by small producers. What’s more, they offer $1 oyster specials and a tapas menu to boot. To enjoy the last of the summer sunshine, head over to Alta Linea at The High Line Hotel for an Italian-inspired drinking experience. This al fresco bar serves up several fun riffs on classic drinks like Negronis, as well as aperitivi-style snacks and even mini gelato ice cream sandwiches to beat the NYC heat. If tequila and mescal are more your speed, La Contenta takes the cocktails you think you know and gives them a Mexican makeover.

Los Angeles
Drinking in the City of Angelsoffers a touch of glamour and a lot of California cool. For a bar/lounge with some karaoke on the side, Break Room 86(pictured right) in The Line Hotel is a like entering a time warp. The cocktails have names like Purple Rain and Cruel Summer, and this bar will take you back while you knock ‘em back. For something more stylish and swank, Bar 53 in West Hollywood is all about late nights, craft cocktails, designer duds and bottle service. Fans of fine scotch and bourbons should look no further than Steak & Whisky in Hermosa Beach. This spirit mecca celebrates the simple things in life: a great selection of browns and excellent cuts of beef. For a well-curated range of wines,Smoke Oil Salt in West Hollywood provides oenophiles with an authenticSpanish wine bar experience, complete with cava, tapas and sherry.

Miami
Miami is a city renowned for its Cuban culture and vibrant nightlife, no more so that at Ball & Chain (pictured right) in Little Havana. It was the place to be back in the 1930s, and this updated version stays true to its roots with generous servings of rum, live Cuban music and a whole lot of salsa. Across town, atHappy Wine, you can sit on a wine barrel while you sip, swirl and drift off to your happy place. This space also doubles as a wine store so if you like what you sample, you can take some home. For a late night drinking adventure, Bodega Taqueria y Tequilla takes you behind the fridge door of a taco shop (trust me) and into a hidden bar that serves up deliciously strong drinks to its loyal, local patrons.

Park City
Although Park City might be well known as a ski town, the après-ski culture of this city also makes it a great bar town. For starters,High West Distillery and Saloonhas been around since the 1870s and was Utah’s very first distillery. Focusing on small batch whisky, bourbon and other spirits this is the perfect place to sample the Best of the West. For a more upscale drinking experience,Silver Restaurant and Lounge covers all the bases: signature cocktails, an impressive wine cellar, a restaurant/lounge atmosphere, and a definite club vibe that lasts into the wee hours. Boneyard Saloon & Kitchen(pictured right) offers patrons a casual, relaxed atmosphere to enjoy plenty of local beers, house cocktails and excellent food. There’s also a heated roof top deck so you can get another round, even after the sun goes down.
