CHAPTER 4

Presentation, Analysis and Interpretation of Data

The data gathered, its analysis and interpretation are represented in the following pages. The data are presented in accordance with the problem presentation in the previous chapter.

As shown in the table 1 below, the mean score of the controlled group in the pretest (mean = 8.94) has increased in the posttest (mean = 13). Likely, the median and the mode made visible increases. The median of the pretest had increased from 9 to 13 in the posttest, while the mode had increased from 9 in the pretest to 14 in the posttest. While the skewness of the pretest of the controlled group has a negative value of -0.46 meaning it is skewed to the left and the posttest has 0.90 which has a positive value meaning it is skewed to the right. On the same hand, the kurtoses of the both pretest and posttest positive value which imply that both tests were leptokurtic.

These findings simply indicate that students taught under the traditional way of teaching had gained enough knowledge and that the traditional way of teaching is an effective means of instruction.

The result below also showed that the mean score of the experimental group in the pretest (mean = 9.89) has increased in its posttest (mean = 14.11). The median and the mode changed directionally as the mean, from 10 for both median and mode to 15. While the skewness of the pretest of the experimental group has positive skewed meaning it is skewed to the left and the posttest has   -0.67 meaning that it is skewed to the right. While the kurtosis of the pretest -0.82 which mean it is platykurtic. On the same hand, the kutosis of posttest has 0.16 means that it is nearly close to mesokurtic.

The findings indicate that the students taught under video-assisted instruction had gained more enough knowledge than those students taught in the traditional way of teaching.
