CHAPTER V

Summary of Findings, Conclusions and Recommendations

This chapter summarizes the findings of the study and presents the conclusions as well as the corresponding recommendations.

Summary of the Findings

1. The pretests mean scores of the experimental and controlled group are 9.89 and 8.94 respectively, which shows no significant difference between the means. The computed t-value of the group is 1.29, which is greater than the tabular t-value which is 2.11 at 0.05 level of significance. This stresses that the student performed almost of at the same level before the implementation of the study with regards to their academic achievements.

2. The posttest mean score of the experimental group is 14.11 which is greater than of the controlled group which value is 13. The computed t-value of the two groups is 2.10 is less than the tabular t-value 2.11 at 0.05 level of significance, showing a not significant difference between the groups. This further emphasize that the students under the experimental group have gained almost likely with the controlled group.

3. The mean of the pretest and the posttest of the experimental group are 9.89 and 14.11 respectively, which gives a significant difference between the tests. The computed t-value of the group is 7.34, greater than the tabular t-value 2.11 at 0.05 level of significance, thus giving an interpretation of significance to its difference. These imply that the use of video-assisted instruction had a positive effect on the performance of the students. While the pretest mean of the score of the controlled group which is 8.94, give a significant difference when compared to the posttest of the same group of 13. The compute t-value of 7.21, also gives a significant difference to the critical t-value of 2.11. This goes to show that even how traditional or usual the strategy may be, can also be effective as long as the students learn and be able to acquire knowledge.
