Sweating even while not moving, ice creams melting rapidly, summer promos around the corner, inflatables and swimming outfits on sale, etc. Oh, you just wish you could be somewhere beautiful where you can spend your summer. As you think of the things to bring for your vacation, one thing shouldn't be forgotten when you love taking photos and videos and sharing it on social media to keep your family or friends updated. A power bank! One of the traveler's nightmare is running out of battery for his/her gadgets. Have you ever experienced it too?
WHAT'S A POWER BANK?
A power bank is a battery in a portable case which provides electrical energy to devices. Power banks stores electrical energy which can, later on, be used as a backup battery when your gadget's battery runs low. Having this with you is very important especially when you are staying outdoors with no access to electrical outlets.

A guide about power banks.
Power banks vary in capacity; it can be as small as 2,200 mAh or huge as 24,000 mAh and so on. The higher the capacity, the more times you can charge your gadget. However, buyers should be keen in knowing the genuine power banks from fakes. Imitations, of course, cannot provide the exact battery capacity written on its label. For example, a fake power bank promises a capacity of 20,000 but it can only charge your phone with 2,100 mAh battery for up to around 50%.
I've been a victim of a fake power bank once. From that unfortunate experience, I promised myself that I won't let myself be fooled again. Well, I guess luck was on my side that even without searching over the internet, a power bank advertisement popped up while I was browsing on Facebook on a lazy day.
JAGUAR 10,050 MAH POWER BANK

Jaguar is the brand of the power bank sold at Kimstore. I am not really familiar with power bank brands so I read almost each of the feedbacks about the Jaguar products and was quite convinced to try one. There are four capacity variations of Jaguar power banks available: 5000 mAh, 10050 mAh, 20000 mAh, and 24000 mAh. I bought the one with 10,050 mAh capacity to try.
PRICE
The price is cheap for only Php 550 ($11 USD) which sounded a bit sketchy. But I trusted the comments from several people in the comments section of their Facebook post. Kimstore also mentioned that the mall price for the Jaguar power banks is more expensive compared to their selling price. So if these power banks are genuine then this is a good catch! So yes, I ordered mine and had it shipped to my home. My shipping fee costs Php 150.75, so I paid Php 700.75 in total. They also have some physical stores in Manila if you want to pick it up yourself.

The first thing I noticed when I got hold of the item is its attractive packaging. The box of the power bank was overall cute in yellows and greens. I like the thunderbolt designs on the sides too. The power bank is also secured in its clear plastic container inside the box. Even though there was a small dent at one corner of the packaging, I believe the item was still sent safely as the box was also wrapped in bubble wrap.

There are only two items you can get from this package: the micro USB cable and the power bank itself. (The cards were only for their giveaway promo.) I'm not sure if white is the only available color for this power bank but I got no problem with it since I like the color too.

The Jaguar 10,050 mAh got some weight on it for 245g which I immediately noticed when I lift it up from its container. It measures 3.38" x 1" x 3.5". If you watch my unboxing video above, you'll see that it's just a little bigger than my minion toy. (Hehe.) The power bank has two outputs: Output 1 and Output 2. Output 1 has 1 Ampere while Output 2 has 2 Amperes. The Amperes on each output indicates the rate of how fast it will take for the power bank to charge your device. Meanwhile, it only has one input (micro USB) for charging. The power bank is compatible with any USB devices, by the way.

Light indicators. Four lights must be lighted when it's on full charge. I used the power bank last week and last night that's why only 3 was lighted as you can see in the photo.
Four small circle light indicators can be found beside the Output 2. You can press the power button to know the status of the power bank. All the lights are on when it's on the full charge and off when the power bank is completely drained. The lights turn off one by one as you consume the battery to know how much is left. When charging, the light blinking serves as your guide of its current status. It takes me almost 6 hours to fully charge it.

Aside from providing battery power to our devices, this power bank also comes with a built-in flashlight on one side. I like how the light has a foggy effect. The light has a soft texture which made me delighted and fascinated. The flashlight also has 3 levels of brightness. Just press the button of the power bank to see the variations.

Meanwhile, the micro USB cable that came with the power bank was like the usual cables, I guess. The typical white and short cable that comes with any cheap power banks. But it does its job so it's fine. It's 11 inches long, just enough to move your phone around when it's charging.

Jaguar promises that the power bank's capacity is real 10,050 mAh.
The moment of truth and the question of many. Can a power bank this cheap really got a 10,050 mAh capacity? Well, according to Kimstore's advertisement, the Jaguar power banks' capacity are "real." It's even written on the box I receive. It says, "Real 10,050 mAh."
According to the customer's testaments on their Facebook post, it does have a real 10,050 mAh capacity. And based on my experience for this item, I was able to charge my phone for almost 3 and 1/2 times.
My verdict for this item?
REAL!
I guess I could charge my phone 4 times in full charge if I wasn't only using it while charging. I was really happy with it and glad I bought one.
So before I end this blog, I also thought of sharing where and how I bought this item.
KIMSTORE
Kimstore is an online gadget retail store known for its cheap price offers on products. As their slogan says, "Your trusted online gadget store." A lot of Filipinos buy from this online store based on my observation. Good quality for a cheap price? Why not?
HOW TO ORDER
One can place an order on Kimstore in many ways. You can reach out to their Facebook page, contact them through text message or call (also found on their Facebook page), order on their website, or directly go to one of their physical stores.
I ordered mine through their website since I am quite confused with their instructions on how to order through their Facebook page. (Lol.) I am also afraid that if I ordered through Facebook, my message would be read at a later time because of the volume of people sending them questions and orders. And I believe the website is more organized and automated that my order will be recorded at once.
I went to the Kimstore website and made an account. After that, I ordered the power bank and chose Cash on Delivery as my payment option. I get to worry less about Cash on Delivery option as a mode of payment because you only have to pay when you get the item in your hands. It's a sure method of getting the item and avoiding being scammed. If it was a scam and no item arrived, then it's fine because I haven't paid for the item yet. (Haha!)
After registering and placing my order, I received an e-mail right away from KimStore to confirm my order. When you have confirmed your order, another e-mail will be sent to you containing the invoice of your order.

The next day, I got another e-mail saying that my order is now on its way. The tracking number of the package is also given and said my order will arrive within 3-5 days. They also sent me a text message a few minutes after I received the e-mail.
I was confused at first as there were no details appearing when I searched for the tracking number of my package at the courier company's tracking site. It went on like this for three days. It was on the fourth day when details of the whereabouts of my package reflected on the tracking site. Maybe it wasn't shipped until the fourth day? Who knows. Anyway, the package arrived on the fifth day.
So, is Kimstore a legit online store?
YES.

A good quality for a reasonably cheap price. Such a good catch! Jaguar power banks are true to their promised capacity and a lot of people have attested to it. One of them is me. (Hehe!) I bought it a week before I went to watch ONE OK ROCK Ambitions Asia Tour Live in Manila (yes, hello again ONE OK ROCK) and only used up around half of it. I wasn't afraid of draining my phone's battery because I know I got a backup. Thanks to my Jaguar power bank I was able to take videos, photos, text friends and families, and stayed online on social media to my heart's content during the concert day. I would definitely recommend this to friends and families because it's worth it and a power bank you can surely trust.
