Chicken Afritada

Chicken Afritada is one of the most popular chicken dishes in the Philippines. It has a creamy sauce from tomato sauce that serves as its soup and it looks attractive because of the potatoes, carrots, and some other ingredients added to it. Here is my easy version of cooking it.


Ingredients:

500 grams chicken ( around 1 pound)
2 medium size potatoes
2 medium size carrots
1 bell pepper 
1 onion
4 cloves garlic
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 cup tomato sauce 
1 cup water 
salt and pepper to taste


Procedure:

1. Saute the garlic and onion then add the chicken, increase the heat to braise the chicken for a while.
2. Then adjust the heat into medium and add the soy sauce and tomato sauce then simmer for few minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Add water and let it boil, then add the potatoes simmer for 2 minutes.
 4. Add the carrots, bell pepper, salt and pepper then simmer until done.

5. Serve it hot.

You can add hotdog and green peas for this recipe.
