We definitely, have seen many innocent faces in the rushing sun set and in the evening time on the road side selling items. Sometime in the shape of newspaper vendor and sometime in the vehicle’s workshop blowing with hammer on steal. Obviously we are seeing they are got the wages of which they are doing hard work but we are unaware how many painful stories are hidden behind these smiling faces. No doubt child labour is a curse that permeates in our society very badly.
Few months ago International Labour Organization has published a report in which Pakistan has got sixth position where child labour reached at dangerous level. Though we see that child labour day is celebrated in all over the world and our society is closed his eyes deliberately, may be our society have accepted that the fate of our young children is not education but live in inferiority. This thing is not worrying us that this child cannot make a good human, then how we expect he will be a good Pakistani.
When a child grows in frustration, what will be his future and that is the question mark for our society. The society, where millions of young children face inequalities, hardships and oppression with empty stomach, then how we expect he will be a patriotic. Hard job is taken from young children from minimum wage. These children lose all qualities and they adopted evils in the society.
These are our society problems which need to be solved. Our government should make such economic policies and establish schemes for the poor. In this regard special attention should be given to the employment of the poor families. They should provide health and education.
To stop or completely elimination of this curse of society is not easy, but we all together can take solid steps to root out this menace.
