The thousand-year-old village against mountains attracts tourists and photo enthusiasts from 2009. According to the statistics of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the number of unincorporated villages in China decreased from 4.2 million in 1984 to 2.67 million in 2012, at a rate of 55, 000 per year. Protection of traditional villages is needed and ongoing through tapping cultural resources and developing tourism.
