China is keen to establish a high speed rail link between Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province and Calcutta of India as part of its efforts to revive the ancient silk route, traversing through Myanmar and Bangladesh. The Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar (BCIM) multi-model corridor project initiated by China if becomes a reality in the near future would give a boost to the trade and economy of all the concerned countries.
