Chocolate Mousse with Mixed Berries
Ingredients
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 ounces bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup mixed berries
Preparation
1 In a double boiler, whisk yolks, and 1/3 cup sugar, until sugar has dissolved, about 2 to 3 minutes.
2 Turn off the heat and quickly whisk in chopped chocolate until melted and well combined. Let it cool to room temperature.
3 In a medium bowl, whip cream with remaining sugar until soft peaks form.
4 Whisk half of whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
5 Layer 4 glasses with the chocolate mousse, whipped cream and berries.
6 Chill at least 2 hours before serving.
