Abilities in the area of language and practical language.

Ability to hear what someone is saying and at same time paying attention to his talk called as listening .
Hindrances in listening skills:-
- There is no proper attention at school level school level.
- There are no activities and courses related to listening
- When we start learning a language we start from writing rather then listening.
- We listen just for formality (suppose if you are in a seminar we don’t listen properly what speaker is saying that is most basic reason of poor listening skill).
- Unlikeness of speaker ( like if you suppose to listen a speaker whom we don’t like you definitely not going to listen to him rather he speaking good or bad)
- Lack of interest of subject ( another reason of poor listening is unlikeness of subject on which a conversation is being on).
- Presumptions ( deciding about main conclusion of speech or conversation before without listening properly)
How to improve listening??
You can improve your listening by following some easy steps given below.

- Be interested in topic on which you are going to listen about.

- Listen English programs, shows on TV and RADIO.
- Participate in face to face conversation and debates.

To look at and understand the meanings words and symbols is known as reading skill.
Scanning:-
Type of reading in which you read any book or given material to find out specific information as soon as possible
Skimming:-
Reading thoroughly to get the main idea .

- Slow over reading rate
- Reading without expressions
- Ignoring punctuations marks while reading
- Confusion about the meaning the words or passage.
- Lack of interest during reading
- Limited vocabulary
- Inability to connect ideas in passage
- Lack of interest in books

- Evaluate your reading to find out where you need to improve
- Provide yourself best conditions for reading
- Use your eyes effectively
