This is  transfer of information from source to a receiver. The information applies to facts, ideas, options , experiences, events , wishes orders, emotions, moods, and anything else that can be communicated. A traffic signal a message but all such signs are not intended for receiver. a fence may be built simply to keep children from wandering into the street, On the other hand it may mean "No Trespassing".

Man in th begining adopted the sources of communication in theses ways, as physical postures, and gestures. In permitive societies physical sigh codes could be quite complicated .
For example the American indian used hads signals that more than 600 meanings certain gestures, such as the handshake and the other modes of communication are perhaps more important today.
