Coorg

The Lakshmana Tirtha River, with the waterfalls, streams close-by and has a Rameshwara sanctuary on its banks. Omkareshwara Temple is a wonderful sanctuary inherent the Indo-Sarcenic style in Coorg. A legend is connected with the sanctuary, manufactured by Lingrajendra II in 1820 CE. The lord put to death a devout Brahmin who set out to dissent against his wrongdoings. The soul of the dead man started to torment the ruler day and night. On the exhortation of savvy men, the ruler constructed this sanctuary and introduced a shivlinga secured from Kashi, North India.
Dubare is predominantly an elephant-catching and preparing camp of the Forest Department at the edge of Dubare woodland; on the bank of the stream Kaveri along the Kushalanagara – Siddapura street. Nagarahole is a national park and untamed life resort. Nisargadhama is a man-made island and excursion spot close Kushalanagara, framed by the waterway Kaveri. Monastery Falls is a beautiful waterfall 5 km from Madikeri. Mallalli falls is 25 km from Somwarpet, downhill of the Pushpagiri slopes. Mandalapatti is 28 km from Madikeri. On the best approach to Abbey Falls, before 3 km from Abbey Falls take right, from that point 25 km. The Tibetan Buddhist Golden Temple is at Bylakuppe close Kushalnagar of Coorg region, in the Tibetan evacuee settlement.
