I recently heard about a science called "Cryobiology" it had a cool sounding name so I decided to look further into it. In essence it is the study of how low temperatures affect living systems. It's not to be confused w/Cryonics, (the practice of deep freezing the dead) although the sciences are related.
I first heard about Cryobiology on a science fiction show, but to my knowledge it's a very real science. Cryobiology has applications in the field of medicine particularly. That's another reason it caught my interest, as most of my readers know I like to study medicine.
To my knowledge no one has ever been revived from a cryonic freeze.
