ÉCU visits the 2011 Paris Cinéma Festival

Posted on at

From restored grand classic movies, to Pixar’s latest animated film, and not to mention a ‘Special Honor to Mexico’ showcase, there was something for everyone. The ÉCU team went to the festival to gather audience reactions. “So much action! Stimulation overload!”, “A high quality festival affordable for most people” and “10 days of REAL cinema” … were some of the reactions towards the Tuesday evening at the end of the MK2 Bibliothèque festival. Among the many activities offered, we chose to attend the exhibition titled: “The festival’s guests as seen by Jérôme Bonnet.» Many portraits taken that evening were then printed during the night and displayed in giant frames in front of the MK2 Bibliothèque and the BnF to appease those passing by. “I came from Japan to study cinema here, in Paris. And truly, coming out of this festival, I’m telling myself that I made the right decision!” said Miyuki, a young Japanese student. “The Paris Cinema Festival is not only a sequence of screenings; it also offers conferences, workshops, exhibitions, a concert and even a garage sale! I had never seen anything like this before!” The festival ended with a giant Ciné-karaoke and a closing ball at the Centquatre. Come back next year for the 10th anniversary of the festival!… An event that is sure to be loads of fun!
