The following are only a few of the misconceptions in English language.
i.e - "that is"
e.g - "for example"
inspite - This should be written as "in spite"
on the way - I've only learned this back in my first yr of college and this literally translates to "pregnant".
till and 'til - The latter is an abbreviation for "until", however "till" has been used older than "until".
...worse come to worse...- This is only a traditional idiom but "worse comes to worst" is more logical.
