Friday is the big night for Dawid and Dominik, which is showing at Cornwall Film Festival. Today I have uploaded the Behind The Scenes film for you to watch. You will see it’s a pretty small crew, and the film was shot over two long days. We shot on a 7D with a variety of lenses, on a budget of £1100.
Here is the synopsis:
Dawid and Dominik is a short comedy about a father (Dominik) and son (Dawid) who have just moved to England from Poland, after Dawid's mother passes away, with her last words being 'Denis Irwin'. Dawid and Dominik's relationship is touching and hilarious, with matching tracksuits, accordions, and Corinthian Pro-stars being a daily part of their lives.
After failing to secure work, Dominik decides to become his son's personal coach in Accordion playing, weight-lifting, football and cookery. Dominik's strict style of coaching does not faze Dawid as he tries to reach success.
Even though Dawid enjoys the training, he feels his father could do with having a woman in his life, so he decides to go on the hunt for the perfect lady. Dawid puts an advert up in the newsagents window for the 'perfect woman', and a number of very unusual women apply, including a Karate enthusiast, Barry Manilow's Number one fan and a woman looking for a relationship of high standards in the bedroom.
Will be uploading an excerpt next week. Looking forward to it?
