When I did child care in my home. I used to tell the children the story of Jesus and none of the parents would care. While talking to other people who watch children in their home .I have heard that the parents do not want their children knowing about Jesus.
Even if a child's parent has no religion. I do not see the harm in children knowing stories about all religions and about Jesus and what all religions believe in.
Everyone has the right to know about God or not know. But children should hear the stories that are in the bible. Than they can make up their own mind about the way that they want to believe.
