Domino Chain Reaction

Posted on at

Did you ever line up dominoes then knock the first one down and watch an entire "train" of dominoes fall? Here's a version that could be useful under certain circumstances. Each "domino" is one and a half times bigger than the one before it. The first domino is a tiny 5 millimeters high and the last one? We're not given the dimensions, but it weighs "about a hundred pounds."

The simple physics lesson is impressive, but we can take even more away from this demonstration. The "butterfly effect" says that for even the tiniest action (some say it pertains to thoughts, too), there is an ever widening reaction because nothing goes unnoticed in the universe.
