The third phase will begin on 27th November, and will see the third to sixth ranked teams from the second phase fight it out in a double elimination bracket. The top two teams will advance and take on EG and C9 in yet another double elimination bracket.
On the last day of the studio matches, many fates were at stake and Cloud 9 was able to dictate the outcome of it all as they were part in three of the four remaining series. The team around captain Jacky 'EternalEnvy' Mao displayed a dominant performance throughout most of the day and took down Evil Geniuses and Alliance down, thus eliminating the Swedes. In their last series of the day, C9 was one win away from securing their top finish and did so in a convincing fashion. Their last game meant nothing to them, but meant everything for Virtus.pro and MVP.Phoenix. Another loss for VP would've qualified the Koreans for the third phase, but VP fought themselves back into the tournament.
The 4th series of the day took place between Tinker and Evil Geniuses and was a fight for a top two finish. Tinker however failed to take down the North-American giant, thus placing only third.
In the MVP vote by the casting crew, 4ASC's Jesse 'JerAx' Vainikka took home the prize and the title.
The third phase is set to begin on November 27th, starting at 14.00 CET at DreamHack Winter in Jönköping.
