Meanwhile, the city’s authorities said they still don’t know the exact details of what types and quantities of dangerous chemicals that were being stored in the warehouse, saying that storage information in the warehouse “remains inconsistent”.
The Tianjin municipal government also added that it has taken measures to curb environmental contamination in the aftermath.
While further investigation and rescue operations are underway, China’s cyber security authorities have shut down over 360 social media accounts, said Xinhua, for spreading rumors about the fatal explosions such as "toxic gas blown to Beijing", "malls and markets looted", and "no one survived within one kilometers of the blast site".
