The list of candidates announced by the party on Sunday for the coming Calcutta Municipal Corporation elections includes sons, daughters and a brother, sister, son-in-law and a sister-in-law of several party leaders. The tendency was first noticed when Trinamul Supremo’s nephew was offered a high berth in the party. It gave rise to murmurs of criticism within the party itself. It is assumed that to fight that criticism and to keep the flock together in the face of the BJP's challenge, this new move has been taken by Trinamul Supremo.
