"Less Sugar, More Fruit."
1. Too much sugar (in soft drinks and iced tea) may lead to diabetes and obesity.
2. Fruits contain another type of sugar called fructose, which is somewhat healthier than white sugar. Most fruits are rich in fiber, Vitamin A, B, C, folate and potassium.
3. For example, apples are an excellent source of pectin, which is a soluble fiber that can lower blood cholesterol and sugar levels. Apples can help prevent constipation, arthritis, gout, gastroenteritis and diarrhea.
4. Bananas are very healthy too, and these contain potassium, vitamin B6 and folic acid. The high potassium content helps prevent cramps and gives ready energy with its easily digestible starch.
5. Eat an average of 2 cups of assorted fruits a day. Don't eat too much either so you won't get fat.
