Edx is a platform where you can take online courses at university level. It was founded in 2012 by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University. Today, the website has more than 2.5 millions of users taking various courses and about 45 schools offering them.

The website offers courses that cover many fields ranging from biology to computer science. If you are just auditing the course, it is completely free. If you want to receive credit for the course you need to pay. Over all, it is a great form to get a bit of extra information or help if you are already in a university, to get a head start if you are in high school, or to improve your English and adquire vocabulary if you are from another country where English is not your native language.
