Ek Villain is basically a romantic adventure movie under Mohit Suri’s direction. This film features Riteish Deshmukh, Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor. Riteish debuts as the villain in this film. The producers of this movie are Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor of the Balaji Telefilms. This movie rotates around Sidharth Malhotra’s dark shades and he has done lots of action scenes for this movie. This is his 1^st movie where he played a role with dark shades. Riteish Deshmukh said about his changeover to negative roles from the comic roles as a different approach. Mohit Suri hunted a lot for finding the lead actress prior to the selection of Shraddha Kapoor. Mohit Suri and Ekta Kapoor both selected Shraddha Kapoor lastly. Previously, Esha Gupta and Alia Bhatt also were looked for this character.

Shraddha Kapoor accepted the offer instantly because of her success of Aashiqui 2 by director Mohit Suri. The role of the CBI officer in the movie was played by Shaad Randhawa. According to him, this role was very challenging. There had been a great inquisitiveness among the viewers regarding the actual villain of the movie and this curiosity got higher every day. Each character is having a dark shade. Even the cop has. Shaad Randhawa said that all the characters have grey sides. The CBI officer, named Aditya Rathod had his own motive to behave in the way in which he does. This movie did a great job, specially the suspense regarding the actual villain of the movie. The viewers liked this movie a lot and it became one of the blockbusters of the year 2014.
