Former Australia captain and legendary cricket commentator Richie Benaud has died overnight at a Sydney hospital in his sleep.at the age of 84. He had been fighting skin cancer since late last year. Benaud was a pioneering leg-spin bowler who had played in 63 Tests, out of which 28 as captain. He retired in 1964 to pursue a career in journalism and broadcasting. Benaud was the first cricketer to achieve 2,000 runs and 200 wickets in Test cricket. Richie was a great tactician who had never lost a Test series as Australia captain, winning five and drawing two. So, his demise is a great loss to cricket.
