England were set a target of 121 to win the third Test against Australia on the third day at Edgbaston on Friday and so take a 2-1 lead in the five-match Ashes series.
Recalled fast bowler Steven Finn took a Test-best six for 79 as Australia were dismissed for 265 in their second innings.
Opener David Warner top-scored in the innings with 77, while Peter Nevill (59) and Mitchell Starc (58) both made fifties.
