England win by seven wickets and are in the final of the World T20. I repeat, England are in the final. It has been a magnificent performance from the mid-point when they started to strangle the New Zealand innings. Jason Roy then led off the chase in style and, despite two wickets in two balls, it was completed without much fuss at all. It all means we will have a repeat winner of the World T20 for the first time, but will it be India or West Indies to face England in Kolkata? Just remember, too, that a little over a year ago England went out of the World Cup with a whimper. It's been quite a story for them since. I'll bring you some reaction shortly.
Noman Awan: "Remarkable turnaround by England. They were no where in CWC15. Here they qualified for the final." Snap
Man of the Match is Jason Roy. "The bowling unit did really well, they are a hugely dangerous line-up. I tried to get the team off to a good start and it went quite well. It was a chance to get off to a great start on a decent wicket. I gave it a crack and it came off. I got a few boundaries early and kept going from there. It's the way a lot of us play, we have that opportunity to do what they want and be free with their skills. A just looked at the runs needed and knocked them off, if you let the occasion get to you it can be to your detriment."
Eoin Morgan. "We did really to peg it back after the first six or seven overs, Kane played really well and his wicket was very important. Continuing to take wickets helped us a huge amount. At one stage we were looking at 180, but the belief in our camp is a very aggressive brand of cricket and we have confidence at the moment - led by Alex Hales and Jason Roy. We are in a good position at the moment. [A final] is the kind of thing you dream about. The players have made a lot of sacrifices and worked very hard for it."
Kane Williamson. "At the halfway stage, credit to England, I knew we were probably a touch short. The 180-mark was realistic and it would have been a closer game. We were beaten by a far better team. We weren't able to stem the flow of runs, it was a fantastic knock by Jason Roy. We backed our bowlers to defend anything but the damage was done early."
