After winning the toss, India elected to bat first but failed miserably to play the England pacers. Pace man Steven Finn produced a career-best performance by claiming five wickets for 33. As a result, India was dismissed for just 153 in 39.3 overs. In reply, England scored the necessary runs to win in just 27.3 overs.  So, the result was that England had a comfortable nine-wicket win over India.
