Frightful Islamic State extremist outfit has appointed a breakaway Taliban commander as its leader in Khurasan, a famous name used by extremists for an area covering Afghanistan, Pakistan.
In a video published online, Islamic State (IS) commander Abu Muhammad Al-Adni assured the name of ex-Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesman Hafiz Saeed Khan as the Amir (chief) of the Khurasan, potentially expanding the group's influence into South Asia and challenging al-Qaeda leadership.
Saeed, 42, visibled in a video ten days ago to declare his desertion from Taliban. He belongs to Orakzai Agency and has worked as head of the Taliban Orakzai tribal region.
