Fashion Week Springs Up In Lincoln Center!

Around this time each year New York City is overrun with models, designers and fashionistas. More than one hundred thousand people will descend on the Mercedes Benz Spring 2014 fashion show to see designers like Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Zac Posen. This weeklong event along with its Spring counter-part brings the big apple some eight hundred and sixty five million dollars in business revenue.

Bouncer Chronicles reports this year’s Fashion Week will go on without “Fashion Night Out,” an evening that was created to bring in big dollars to stores and host some of the year’s best social events. This event was cancelled earlier this year after sponsors Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and New York City & Company pulled out.

Kyle Kimball, who is the president of New York City Economic Development Corp said Fashion Week is very important to New York. He believes it is imperative that we continue to grow this critical sector and maintain the city’s reputation as a global capital of the fashion industry. There are about one hundred and seventy five thousand people that are employed in the city’s fashion industry.

With over nine hundred fashion companies headquartered in the big apple, Kimball believes these events define what American fashion is to the rest of the world. For updates on Fashion Week and to stay updated on the latest trends check out modelswebtv.com
