Fastest test double century in cricket history

The fastest century in the history of cricket scored in test match was by Nathan Astle playing against England in the first Test at Jade Stadium,Christchurch, New Zealand,on 17th March 2002. He was an Cricketer of Newzealand.

He reached the 200 mark in 153 balls and proceeded to score 222 runs off 168 balls,including 28 fours and 11 sixes. England, however, went on to win the game by 98 runs, making Astle 's effort the highest individual innings in a lost game.

It was the first fastest 200 hundred which ever made by any cricketer in the history of cricket.But unfortunately Newzealand could not win the match instead the fastest 222 of Astle
