Sevilla have gone undefeated at home in 33 matches, and haven't lost a home league fixture since Barça won way back in February 2014.
In one year and one month, Sevilla are undefeated at the Sánchez Pizjuán. The last time they were beaten at home was in March 2014, in the famous Europa League derby encounter with Betis, who despite their troubled season were able to celebrate 2-0 victory at the ground of their biggest rivals (although Sevilla returned the gesture in the second leg and ended up progressing on penalties). Since then, 33 different teams in three different competitions have appeared in the Sevilla stadium, and not one of them has escaped with a win.
The Andalusian side’s unbeaten run in home league matches goes back even further, to February 2014, when Barça defied the torrential rain to win 4-1. In fact, although the Sánchez Pizjuán has been a tricky destination for most Liga clubs, the Catalans have a splendid record there of late. They have not lost the fixture in seven seasons and the last three have all been away wins – 4-1, 3-2 and 2-0.
Impeccable stats
Unai Emery’s side has been in emphatic home form this term. Of the 23 games in all competitions in their stadium they have won 19 and drawn just four. Not a single defeat.
And they’ve been banging the goals in as well. No fewer than 73 goals for and just 15 conceded in the last year on home turf. In fact, Espanyol is the only side that has been able to score more than once against them in all that time. The Sánchez Pizjuán is the ground that has witnessed the fewest away league goals this season, a mere seven, and is also the only one where the home side remains undefeated.
