Do you have a fear or phobia? A lot of people do. I bet whoever is reading this has one. It is perfectly normal to have a fear or phobia. A phobia is a danger that feels so real. A lot of phobias are very strong and some are very weak. You also can overcome them. Overcoming a phobia or fear entails, learning how to relax, and calm yourself so that you can gradually face the feared object or situation and feel less afraid. Some phobias are good to have because; if we didn't have any fears or phobia we could get hurt or be in danger. A fear is one of the most basic human emotions. When danger occurs our nervous system works in an instant. Also it causes a change in the brain and organ functioning and ultimately a change in our behavior, such as running away, hiding, or freezing from traumatic events. Fear should be distinguished but is closely related to the emotion anxiety, which occurs of a result. In humans and animals fear is modulated by the process of cognition and learning. The most common phobia is speaking or reading in front of other people. To be honest with you I have this phobia. When you have any type of fear or phobia your brain reacts and then we physically feel pain. Today that is what is happening to me. When people with this phobia read in front of other people, they start to stutter when the talk or they cannot talk at all. A fear my mom has is going on a rollercoaster. I love them, because I don’t have that fear. A lot of people have this fear. They are scared they are somehow going to get unbuckled and fall out. Or they are scared about the drops the roller coaster is going to have. What causes fears and phobias? A lot of fears and phobias called an amygdale to keep track of all the experiences that trigger our strong emotions. The amygdala warns the person by triggering a fear reaction every time that things or situation happens. Everyone has a fear and phobia. These fears and phobias come in all different strange forms. It is possible to overcome your fear and phobia.
