Ferrero, the maker of Nutella, uses 25 percent of the world's supply of hazelnuts.

Twenty-five percent of the world's hazelnuts are used by Nutella, a
hazelnut cocoa spread made by the Italian manufacturer Ferrero Group. The
product is the largest consumer of hazelnuts worldwide. To keep a steady
supply of hazelnuts for Nutella, the Ferrero Group owns its own hazelnut
manufacturer in Turkey, the area that grows the majority of the world’s
hazelnut supply. Each standard 13 ounce jar of Nutella is said to contain
approximately 50 hazelnuts. In 2013, there were approximately $2.46 billion
US Dollars (USD) worth of Nutella sales worldwide, and it is estimated that
around one jar of the spread is sold every 2.5 seconds.
