Filipino Silog Meals

Posted on at

If you're a fellow Filipino, I'm sure you are all familiar with this one.
As the title implies, this meal is a famous Filipino meal served either for lunch or for dinner.
SILOG stands for "SInangag" which means fried rice in English and "itLOG" which is the egg.
It's your choice if you want your egg well done or just half cooked.

You can pair it with beef tapa or cured beef, boneless chicken, bacon and the likes.
As for me, one of my favorite is the cured beef, the pork's intestine that's boiled and marinated. I always get free boneless chicken with gravy whenever I order because I'm a loyal customer since highschool. Lol :P

In the photo above is the Spicy Isaw w/ Egg and fried rice plus my free boneless chicken with gravy. It may not look delicious but mind you, it really is! ;)

Now here's what I order most of the time. It's called Beef Tapsilog. The color is a bit dark because of the sauce that's used for marinating it but the taste is really the best. The beef is also so tender you won't have a hard time chewing it. It is best paired with egg which I prefer half cooked or what I call "medium rare". Haha

Lastly, the chicken sisig. It's a boneless chicken that's sliced into thin bits topped with mayo and chicharon. This is really good but I prefer the pork sisig better. :)

There's a lot more but I didn't have the chance to take photos of it.
