*NEW FEATURED FILM
The Lesson by Sheila Pye
Inspired by the existentialist writer Eugene Ionesco, the story unfolds in a middle-class drawing room during a non-specific time period. A professor, his young pupil, and his maid study the curriculum of the absurd. As the lesson continues, communication breaks down, language falters, and the professor loses control. The characters in the film are rendered emotionless and marionette like by the animated style in which the film was shot. ‘The Lesson’ was the winner of Best Experimental Film Award in Telefest, Canada. This film was suggested to Film Annex by the director of Miami International Film Festival, Tiziana Finzi.

*HISTORY WEB TV
Golden Age of the Automobile - Describes pre-automobile America in the late 19th century. Shows the first cars produced in America and Europe, and explains how cost and inconvenience limited use of the new invention to the rich. With technical improvements and road construction, the automobile became more accessible and useful, and contributed to the independence of youth and women. The production innovations of Henry Ford made the car a necessity, and encouraged American mobility and the expansion of other industries. Concludes with a discussion of the dominance of the automobile in contemporary American life and the problems it has brought. You can watch this movie for free here.
