Friends and filmmakers,
We’re half way into October, and there’s still enough time for you to submit your film to the War of Films! This month, the lucky winner will get $2000, and you can be that filmmaker. The most active voter will receive $400.
We are also still accepting submissions for Nicky’s Film Sound Design and Remix Contest! You can check out the new entries on the contest page. If you want to remake an Abel Ferrara film and work with the acclaimed director, this is your chance!
This Week’s Highlights:
Featured Filmmaker
Matthew Thompson recently joined Film Annex with his unique, tender, and somewhat quirky films. After studying Film/TV production, he has directed music videos, short films, and commercials for brands like Converse and Boston Celtics. Check out Thompson’s short film The 8th Floor Superette and get to know him a little bit better. You won’t regret it.

Has anyone told you that you looked ridiculous in that make-up? From producer Nathan Carter and director Juan Junquera comes an experimental short that will take you to a dark place! You Look Ridiculous in That Make-up tells the story of a man on the road to self-discovery.

From the folks who are bringing you TILT the Movie and TILT the Town comes Tilt the TV! “Who are these folks?” you might ask. Director Phil Holbrook whose film Honest Work was a War of Films winner, as well as the screenwriting duo Julie Keck & Jessica King bring to you exclusive behind the scenes footage, interview, and other exciting content about their new feature film, TILT.
