I have never publicly blogged before because words are not my strong point (as you will see in this blog). I'm kind of hoping no one will read this. But please do carry on if you've started... reading this.
My name is Katie Walters and I am in my third year at Staffordshire University. That's right, I said that. One more year and then I'm forced to become a grown up. As Gordon Ramsay frequently says, ' Dam'.
I am currently making a new short film. It's a documentary about people in cars. Some of the most amusing moments of my life occurred in a car. Those long drives to Skegness in the summer with my mum getting stressed out while us kids are being ruddy monsters, singing 'I wanna have sex on the beach' at the age of 8 not having a clue. Looking at my dad pick his nose and thinking, well that's just not pretty is it.
Cars are the one place where you are stuck. No TV (unless you're minted), Nowhere to hide. Only the road and the radio at your side. (hey did that rhyme?). So let me ask you this. Is there something that has happened to you in a car? Ever broken up with someone or been dumped? Ever experienced a first kiss or first (anything else) in a car? Ever been in a highly awkward situation where you don't know who you're sitting next to? Ever got into an extremely deep conversation and once getting to a location stayed in the car to finish it? Have you ever been on a road trip with a group of friends and enjoyed the journey more than the actual holiday type thing?
Just something to think about. If anyone has any stories please inform me. Would be great research.
So that's what I'm going to do. Yes. Lots of contributors that, hopefully, won't drive away with the kit. I have faith in the people.
If anyone is interested in this and wants to get in touch. Just holla. I will be eternally grateful.
That is all.
