Expectations:
The expectations are high from this romantic drama which has been set in Kashmir. The director's track record is also very good. Let's take a look at Fitoor review to find out if it lives up to the expectations. (Only a short review)
Fitoor Movie Review - Katrina Kaif
The film revolves around the journey of Noor (Aditya R Kapur) and his childhood buddy Firdaus (Katrina Kaif). They both belong to two different classes. Noor's mother Begum Hazrat played by Tabu is not keen on their alliance considering the fact she is suffering from broken heart in her past and thus opts a life as per her own vengeance via her daughter. On the other side, Noor heads to Delhi to soon become a world class painter. He returns with his passion for Firdaus and usual has to face the hurdles amidst the political turmoil of Kashmir in the background. So will Begum be successful to separate the two or the passion for love of Noor finds some way? Watch the film to find out.
Fitoor Review: Direction, Editing, Screenplay
Abhieshk Kapoor paints Fitoor on the canvas extremely well. The film is a visual treat with Kashmir being portrayed in their best of natures. But the poor screenplay has let the film down in a big way. The chemistry and passion was missing in the film. Yes there are some scenes which have been beautifully captured, but they are not enough.
Amit Trevedi’s music compliments extremely well for the film and of course the song placement is quite apt. Cinematography by Anay Goswamy is breath-taking. His work is nothing short of a painting.
Fitoor Review: Star Performances
♦ Katrina Kaif was okay in the film. She looks terrific with her red hair and expensive wardrobe but was expressionless in most of the sequences.
♦ Aditya Roy Kapoor did a reasonable job. He could have done much better but unfortunately there was not much scope for him.
♦ Tabu was once again terrific. She transformed herself completely in the character of Hazrat Begum who has a dark side.
Whats Good:
♦ Breath taking Visuals
♦ Music
♦ Few brilliant sequences
What's Not:
♦ Lead Pair
♦ Story
♦ Weak Screenplay
Fitoor Movie Review: Last Word
Fitoor could not live up to its "Great Expectations". But it is a once time watch for its stunning visuals.
