Floating in the Sky

Posted on at

Let's take a trip! Let's go to the Takeda Castle in Japan, a popular tourist attraction. It's so far up and is situated so that it sets among the clouds, creating the illusion of hanging in the sky with nothing under it. That makes for a feeling of surrealism for the tourists.

Probably finished in 1441, the castle was abandoned due to internal wars but is now open to the public. While the actual castle no longer exists, the ruins are open to tourists, who have come to it so enthusiastically that they are now charged 300 yens in an effort to slow down the number of visits.
