Introduction
Fluoroscopy is the movie of the continuous x-ray images i.e a real time X-ray movie of the patient. It essence is just a real time radiography. Systems used for fluoroscopy use x-ray detector systems capable of producing images in rapid temporal sequence.
Applications
Fluoroscopy technique is used to visualize the position of catheters in arteries, for visualizing contrast agents in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, and for other medical purposes where real-time image feedback is necessary. It is also used to make x-ray movies of anatomic motion. It is also used in “Simulator room” where the position of tumor or other disease is analyzed and then the radiotherapy of that portion of body is done.
