The former wife of Major League Baseball star Andruw Jones accused him of dragging her down a flight of stairs, grabbing her by the neck and saying he wanted to killer her, according to police records.
The Associated Press said the dispute happened around 1:30 A.M. on Christmas Day after Nicole Jones asked her husband to help her prepare their Atlanta, Georgia home for Christmas morning.
Andruw was free on $2,400 bond after police had arrested him on battery charges, according to Gwinnett County jail records.
Police found injuries to Nicole’s neck which they photographed for evidence. When police officers entered into the Jones’ residence bedroom Andruw was passed out in his clothes. He seemed heavily intoxicated and confused about why police officers were standing in his bedroom.
This is not the first time Andruw has been involved in a physical conflict. Bouncer Chronicles previously reported he was involved in a conflict with patrons at the famous NYC China club in the mid 2000's while he was a member of the Atlanta Braves.
Andruw was once a premier Major League Baseball player who broke into the majors at the age of only 18 and won ten consecutive gold glove awards as a center-fielder from 1998-2007. He spent last season with the New York Yankees hitting .197 with 14 home runs and 34 RBI’S in what was a reserve role.
