Each year in New York State, thousands of high school athletes graduate with plans of going to college the following fall; a small percentage of those players dream of continuing to practice and participate in their favorite sport at University. For those players who aspire to become college athletes, considering a particular universities’ sports team can be hugely important when deciding which school would be the best for them to attend.

For many players it can be very difficult to visit as many universities and to talk to as many coaches as they would like too. Travel costs, time constraints and schedule conflicts all make the process of college visits even more difficult. At the same time, not nearly everyone is fortunate enough to get recruited. Sometimes it can be very difficult for a student athlete to get the exposure necessary to get noticed. If you’re a good player, but are on a poor team, it can be difficult to get any exposure at all, or even a fair chance to play the best that you can.

Oftentimes a player may not want to go to a D1 school, where recruiting is prevalent, but would like to know where/which school is the best fit is for him or her, be it academically or athletically. Student athletes may also not know what schools are out there, or which ones have sports teams.

Our idea for a business is to host a number of athletic events in which athletes from all over New York State could come to perform and play with and against each other in front of college coaches and staff. Syracuse being centrally located within New York and having an abundance of sports fields and high school athletics is a perfect spot. This model is convenient for coaches too, it allows them one centralized location to find player easily.
