Our plan would include around five once a year, day long events, each day featuring an individual sport. The sports we would support would be lacrosse, football and soccer in the summer and basketball in the fall. This would give all soon to be seniors in college as much time as possible to prepare before they need to start making decisions about which university to attend while also not interfering with their respective sports schedules. Athletes would participate in several types of athletic events designed to display both their skills and athleticism.
The revenue model would be to charge each athlete $60 to enter the event and guarantee visibility from coaches and staff from regional colleges. We would also guarantee each athlete the opportunity to speak with a coach from each university they were interested in. In order to deliver on that promise, athletes would be limited to 100 per event. High school coaches would be welcome to attend the event to tell college recruiter about their athletes and to gain insight into the recruitment process.
Costs for these events would include the cost to insure the events, the cost to pay a few staff members and the cost to pay referees to officiate some of the events. There would be some expenses like boxed lunches for the athletes, coaches and staff. There would need to be an informative website, which could be designed fairly cheaply.
