From Morocco- to Paris ( A little Life Update)

Posted on at

About a week ago I returned home from Casablanca, Morocco with a bronze medal. It was my first tournament of the 2014 year, and I landed on the podium. I was the #1 seed at this tournament and I lost in the semi-final to an Italian girl. Overall Morocco was a good experience. We were right by the beach, and the USA team was taken very good care of.

However Since I have been home I have been very sick. I am not sure if it from travelling of the fact that everyone around me is flu-like. Right off the plane I literally went to bed and woke up the next morning and went to the gym, and then worked out very hard at practice. I had a great day of training but the next day I felt so weak, and sick! Like maybe I overdid it. I still trained but that night I had the chills and sweats at the same time, and since then I have not yet recovered.

This weekend, I decided to just rest and recover since I am going to be traveling to Paris for one of the biggest competitions in the world. The Paris Grand Slam.I am very excited to compete here and I have high expectations for myself. Last year I lost first round to Morgane Ribout from France the 2010 World Champion, it was a good match. Literally one of the best matches I've had at the Paris Grand Slam. This will be my fourth Paris tournament and I am hoping I come out with a few victories under my belt

After the competition I will be staying for a few extra days to participate in the Training Camp. This camp is one of the hardest camps in the world because every good person from Japan, Korea, France, Nederlands, Russia, Germany...etc come there to train! It is awesome!

I also wanted to mention that I was recently in The Winged Foot Magazineand I wanted to thank the NYAC for putting my story in there!

After Paris, I come home for a few days and then fly to Dusseldorf, Germany to compete in their Grand Prix event!

But don't worry- I will keep you updated on everything when I am on the road!! So please keep your fingers crossed for me and wish me luck!!
