An electrical system Is one of the key of converting and transporting energy.

The only way of transporting energy in the form of electrical energy is the transmission lines. Gas is transported by pipelines.

Railroads, ships and pipelines carry oil over long distance.

The coal is shipped by railroads 

and water.

When coal is the primary source of energy transmission lines becomes a competitor of railroads and ships.

                             The location of steam generation station must be near to coal mine or to load center. Hydroelectric power becomes very much low expensive when the cost of transmission system is low. The cost of transmission depend on the condition either the demand of electric power is continuous or temporary.

                             An electric power system can be very much beneficial in case of water power. The energy should must be converted from water energy to electrical at site where water is available. And electrical system delivers energy from where the water is available to remote point. And from remote point is delivered to palace where it is used and converted to desired form.

                             Transmission lines are not able to store the energy, and all the energy produced at generation end is converted totally at the load point , butt losses cannot be converted cause they are wasted in the transmission line conductors.
